Indian cricketer Sarfaraz Khan recently spoke about Rohit Sharma’s impact on the team, comparing him to Aamir Khan’s character in the movie Lagaan. The 26-year-old said Rohit treats everyone with respect and makes the dressing room a fun and positive place.
Sarfaraz Khan, the right-handed batter, made his debut in 2024 under Rohit Sharma’s captaincy. He scored 200 runs in three Tests against England, including three fifties. His aggressive batting against Ben Stokes’ team helped improve the team’s performance.
While speaking on Jio Cinema, Sarfaraz Khan said, “He is a different captain and makes you feel comfortable. Rohit Sharma is like a big brother, and we enjoyed a lot while playing under his captaincy. He doesn’t treat young players like juniors, and all are equal in front of him.”
“Lagaan is my favorite Bollywood blockbuster, and Rohit Sharma is like Aamir Khan for the players,” he added.
Dhruv Jurel praised Rohit’s batting, saying he was impressed by how Rohit plays his shots. Jurel also made his Test debut against England this year.
He said, “People used to say Rohit Sharma has a lot of time. But when we watch him closely, he hits the deliveries that you struggle to even touch with the bat. His pull shot is famous, and watching Rohit’s strokes from close is special. He is GOAT.”
Sarfaraz Khan and Dhruv Jurel have both been named in India’s 15-man squad for the first Test against Bangladesh.
