Amol Kale, President of the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA), passed away due to a heart attack while watching the India vs Pakistan match in New York. He was accompanied by MCA Secretary Ajinkya Naik and Apex Council member Suraj Samat at Nassau County Stadium during the match.
According to reports, Kale was elected as the president of MCA in October 2022. He defeated Sandeep Patil in a close contest to assume the presidency. Kale played a crucial role in doubling the match fees of senior players for the upcoming Ranji season in Mumbai.
Amol Kale, who hailed from Nagpur but had been residing in Mumbai for over a decade, was a close associate of Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. He was also a co-promoter of the Indian Street Premier League, launched earlier this year.
Another Loss for Pakistan in World Cup Match Against India
On Sunday, June 9, India again defeated Pakistan in the World Cup. India lost the toss but got the chance to bat first. While batting, the team managed to score 119 runs in 19 overs. Pakistan’s team seemed to be in a good position, scoring 72 runs for the loss of two wickets in 12.2 overs. They needed to score only 48 runs in 7.4 overs to win. However, the Pakistani batters couldn’t handle the pressure. Fakhar Zaman lost his wicket while trying to score quickly. Pant caught him off Pandya’s bowling.
After this, India’s hope of a comeback ignited. But Jasprit Bumrah turned the game around by dismissing Rizwan on the first ball of the 15th over. From there, India tightened its grip on the match, thanks to the disciplined bowling by Bumrah, Hardik, and Axar in the death overs. In the final over, Pakistan needed 18 runs, with Arshdeep Singh entrusted with the bowling responsibility. Despite an attempt by Pakistani batter Nasim Shah to increase the heartbeats of Indian fans by hitting two fours, it wasn’t enough. In the end, India won the match by 6 runs. Bumrah received the Player of the Match award for his outstanding bowling performance.
