Team India is in Australia for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25, which starts on November 22. Indian skipper Rohit Sharma recently welcomed a baby boy and he is expected to join the team before the first Test. Along with Rohit, the experienced fast bowler Mohammed Shami, who recently returned to cricket through the 2024 Ranji Trophy, will also travel to Australia.
As per Dainik Bhaskar, Rohit Sharma will visit Australia before the first Test. Fast bowler Mohammed Shami will travel with him but is likely to join the team for the second Test.
Mohammed Shami returned to cricket after a year and played for Bengal in the Ranji Trophy 2024 match against Madhya Pradesh. He had an amazing comeback, destroying the Madhya Pradesh batting lineup. Shami took four key wickets – Shubham Sharma, Saransh Jain, Kumar Karthikeya, and Kulwant Kejroliya. His bowling figures looked like 4/54 in 19 overs.
In the second innings, Shami stayed in good form, taking three more wickets. With the bat, he scored 37 runs from 36 balls, hitting 2 fours and 2 sixes.
