India To Host ICC Champions Trophy Instead of Pakistan? Here Is The Detailed Report

The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 has sparked tension between the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). The two boards have been at odds over unresolved issues, leaving the ICC stuck in the middle.

Despite ongoing discussions, no solution has been found and the complications regarding the organisation of the tournament is increasing day by day. Fans hope for a resolution soon to ensure the competition proceeds smoothly.

The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 is coming soon, but the schedule, venue, and format of the tournament have not been announced yet. Despite the uncertainty, the ICC has sent the trophy to Pakistan for an official trophy tour.

The Controversy Over ICC Champions Trophy

The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 trophy arrived in Islamabad on Thursday, November 14, and will be taken on a tour across Pakistan from November 16 to 24.

According to Cricbuzz, the trophy will travel to places like Murree, Hunza, Muzaffarabad, and Skardu. It will also be taken to K2, the world’s second-highest mountain after Everest. While climbing K2 is risky with a high fatality rate, it is safer to climb from the Pakistan side.

The ICC Champions Trophy will not go to Lahore, Karachi, and Pindi, where the tournament will be played, because of smog. Instead, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the government are promoting tourism by taking the trophy to new places.

There is still no clear update about the tournament. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has said it will not travel to Pakistan because the Indian government hasn’t given permission. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) wants to host the whole tournament in Pakistan.

BCCI and Indian cricket management have talked about using a hybrid model for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, but Pakistan does not agree with the idea. According to Cricbuzz, the ICC is expected to announce the tournament schedule soon. The final decision is now with the ICC, which is talking to everyone involved to figure things out.

The History of Clash Between India and Pakistan

As we know, both India and Pakistan are going on with political tension after the 2008 Mumbai Taj attack. Since then, India has not visited Pakistan for any kind of cricketing event. However, back in 2013, it was Pakistan who arrived in India for a three-match T20I and ODI series.
