New IPL Rule Before The Mega Auction For 2025 Edition

The 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) auction is coming up soon and all the franchises are getting ready for it. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has asked all teams to submit their lists of players they want to keep and those they want to let go. The deadline for these lists is October 31.

Most teams have already made their plans, and reports are starting to come out about which players will stay with each team and their prices before the auction.

Reports say the 2025 IPL auction will be a big event with many star players available. Top Indian players like KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer, and Rishabh Pant are expected to be in the auction. Famous international players like Andre Russell, David Warner, and Faf Du Plessis are also likely to be up for grabs.

With these big names involved, the stakes are high, and the record for the highest bid might be broken. This auction will be more expensive than previous ones because the BCCI has increased the budget for teams from INR 100 Lakhs to INR 120 Lakhs, which is the largest budget in IPL history.

The starting bid for players in the 2025 auction has also gone up by INR 10 Lakhs. Now, the minimum bid for a player is set at INR 30 Lakhs, up from INR 20 Lakhs.

This means that any player chosen in the auction will earn at least INR 30 Lakhs. Senior journalist Mohsin Kamal confirmed this on Twitter.

Reports also say that the starting prices for uncapped players in the auction will be INR 30 Lakh, INR 40 Lakh, and INR 50 Lakh. For capped players, the minimum starting price has increased from INR 50 Lakh to INR 75 Lakh, with other price categories set at INR 1 Crore, INR 1.25 Crore, INR 1.50 Crore, and INR 2 Crore.

This year, players can earn a lot from the IPL. They will receive a match fee of INR 7.5 Lakhs for each game they play. If a player plays in all the league matches, they will get an extra INR 1.05 crores on top of their regular salary. Jay Shah recently announced these changes.
