Updated WTC 2023-25 points table after India-Bangladesh 2nd Test

The Indian men’s cricket team, led by Rohit Sharma, defeated Bangladesh by 7 wickets in the second Test, clinching the two-match series 2-0. In a rain-affected match held at Green Park Stadium in Kanpur, India successfully chased a target of 95 runs in 17.2 overs on the fifth and final day to claim a decisive victory.

India’s victory on Tuesday, October 1, further solidified their lead at the top of the World Test Championship (WTC) 2023-25 points table, with a PCT% of 74.24. Defending champions Australia are in second place with a PCT% of 62.50. Following the two 2023 WTC finalists are Sri Lanka with 55.56%, England with 42.19%, South Africa with 38.89%, and New Zealand with 37.50%.

After suffering two consecutive Test defeats against India, Bangladesh has slipped to the seventh position in the World Test Championship standings with a PCT% of 34.38.

Yashasvi Jaiswal scored half-centuries in both innings of the Kanpur Test which India won despite two full days being lost to rain. India bowled Bangladesh out for 146 in their second innings and successfully chased the target of 95 runs, losing just three wickets in 17.2 overs.

After sweeping Bangladesh, India will now play a three-match Test series against New Zealand, starting on October 16 in Bengaluru. The second and third Tests will be held in Pune and Mumbai. Following this, India will head to Australia for a five-match Test series.

The 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy will begin on November 22 in Perth, with the remaining matches set to be played in Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, and Sydney.
