This has caused significant frustration, as there has been almost no rain in the past two days, yet not a single ball has been bowled so far in the match.
The internet has been filled with criticism, especially targeting the BCCI, due to poor stadium facilities. Videos and photos shared online showed ground staff using electric fans to dry the outfield. Things got worse when officials tried to fix the wet area by cutting grass from the practice area and placing it on the damaged section.
Fans have criticized the BCCI for poor hospitality and failing to provide Afghanistan with a high-quality stadium for their Test match. However, many are unaware that India’s top cricket board is not responsible for this situation.
Sports journalists Subhayan Chakraborty from Revsports and Abhishek Tripathi took to Twitter to explain the reasons behind choosing Greater Noida as the venue for this Test match.
Subhayan shared a series of tweets explaining that the Afghanistan Cricket Board had specifically requested Greater Noida as the venue. Additionally, the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association had offered assistance to the Noida Sports Authority, but their offers went unanswered.
