In the first T20I played between England and Australia at the Rose Bowl Southampton, the star batter of Australia Travis Head played an explosive innings of 59 runs. With the help of this, Australia managed to beat England by 28 runs.

After starting slow with the bat, Head got his fifty in just 19 balls and he took Sam Curran on the radar. Curran came to bowl the fifth over of the match where Head got all guns and blazes against the England all-rounder and gathered 30 runs off the over.

In the over against Sam Curran, Head smashed two consecutive fours on the first two balls of the innings and then he smashed three sixes in a row after getting two back-to-back fours.

By adding 30 runs in a single over, Head has joined the elite list of Australians who have scored the most runs in a T20I match. This includes Ricky Ponting, Aaron Finch, Glenn Maxwell, Daniel Christian, and current Australia’s T20 captain Mitchell Marsh.

In this match, Australia posted a total of 179 runs where they were bundled out in 19.3 overs.

While chasing the target, the England team was all out at 151 runs in 19.2 overs. Liam Livingstone got the maximum 37 runs for the team, while Philip Salt scored 20 runs. They did not get support from any other batters and lost the match by 28 runs.

For Australia, Sean Abbott got the maximum three wickets while Josh Hazlewood and Adam Zampa got 2 wickets each.
