Rohit Sharma Addresses Fans’ Concerns After Shoulder Injury

Rohit Sharma sustained an injury during the match against Ireland. A ball struck his shoulder, causing considerable worry among fans. However, Rohit alleviated their concerns after the match.

Under Rohit Sharma’s captaincy, the Indian team has made a stellar start in the T20 World Cup 2024. Rohit played a brilliant innings, scoring 52 runs off 37 balls in this victorious match. Despite his impressive performance, fans were highly concerned due to his injury. Rohit addressed these concerns post-match, putting everyone at ease.

After the eight-wicket victory against Ireland, Rohit said, “There’s a bit of pain. It’s a new ground, a new venue, and I wanted to see how it feels playing here. I don’t think the pitch has settled yet. There was quite a bit in it for the bowlers. It was good to get the points.”

Rohit also shared insights on how bowlers should approach this ground, specifically discussing the performance of the spinners. He remarked, “Stick to the basics, think about bowling like in a Test match. Arshdeep can swing the ball toward the right-handers, which set the tone. I don’t think we can play four spinners here. If the conditions favor the seamers, we will keep them in the squad. The spinners can showcase their skills further in the tournament. We are ready to make changes according to the team’s needs.”

Rohit also talked about the team’s preparation for the match against Pakistan. He stated, “I don’t know what to expect from the pitch, but we will prepare assuming the conditions will remain the same. All eleven players will need to come together and contribute to that game. The pitch was a bit tricky, but it was good to bat for that long. Hopefully, we can do the same against Pakistan.”

Earlier, Rohit won the toss and opted to bowl first, a decision that proved to be spot on. The Indian pace bowlers, led by Hardik Pandya, didn’t give the Irish batsmen a chance to settle, bundling them out for just 96 runs.

For Team India, Hardik Pandya took the maximum of three wickets, while Jasprit Bumrah and Arshdeep Singh claimed two each. Mohammed Siraj and Axar Patel took one wicket each. In response, India comfortably chased down the target, losing only two wickets. Rohit Sharma scored 52 runs, and Rishabh Pant remained unbeaten with 36 runs off 26 balls. Team India will next face Pakistan on Sunday, June 9.
