West Indies star Nicholas Pooran put on a fantastic show for the Trinbago Knight Riders in a Caribbean Premier League 2024 match against the St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots on Saturday, August 31.
The left-handed wicketkeeper-batsman scored 97 runs from just 43 balls, with the help of seven fours and nine sixes. With these nine sixes in seven innings, Pooran broke Chris Gayle’s record for the most sixes in a single year.
Pooran who is 28 years old has hit 139 sixes in 58 T20 matches in 2024. Chris Gayle had hit 135 sixes in 36 T20 matches back in 2015.
