R Ashwin In Chennai Super Kings For IPL 2025?

After the retention of all the players, all the franchises have got a maximum purse for the upcoming mega auction. spinner Ravichandran Ashwin could return to Chennai Super Kings (CSK) for the next IPL season. Ashwin became well-known when he started playing for CSK in his first IPL season in 2009.

He used to be the main spinner for the team but was surprisingly released after the 2015 season. After that, he played for four other IPL teams: Rising Pune Supergiants, Kings XI Punjab, Delhi Capitals, and Rajasthan Royals.

Ravichandran Ashwin might return to Chennai Super Kings (CSK). He played for Rajasthan Royals last season, but they did not keep him in their retained players’ list. This means he will be part of the auction, giving CSK a chance to bring him back.

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) want to build a strong team for the next few years. According to TOI, the team is planning to bring back Ravichandran Ashwin because he has lots of experience playing at Chepauk stadium.

Ashwin has played in Chennai before and knows the team well. At 38, he is near the end of his career and has something to prove. Returning to CSK could give Ashwin a fresh boost at this stage in his career. A few months ago, he told TOI that he still dreams of playing for CSK again, the team that first gave him a chance in 2008.

Ravichandran Ashwin played 121 matches for CSK, taking 120 wickets with an average of 23.70 and a good economy rate of 6.66. He often bowled during the tough powerplay overs with the new ball and became MS Dhoni’s reliable bowler.

Thanks to his strong IPL performances, Ashwin was chosen to play for the Indian team. He made his international debut in 2010 and was part of India’s 2011 ODI World Cup-winning team just a year later.
