Pat Cummins To Take Break From Cricket? Here Is The Surprising Reason

In breaking news, Australia captain Pat Cummins has taken an eight-week break from cricket to prepare for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against India. Cummins recently played in the Major League Cricket (MLC) in the United States. To manage his workload, the selectors have given him a rest for the white-ball tour of England.

According to a quote by Fox Sports, Pat Cummins said, “A break makes you fresh and you never regret it.”

“I’ve been bowling non-stop since the World Test Championship final against India. This break will help me to recover and then I will start preparing for the summer.”

“Any break helps you to bowl long spells without any injury concerns,” he added.

Cummins played in the ODI series against India and then took Australia to victory in the ICC ODI World Cup. Cummins also played Test matches against Pakistan and the West Indies. He was part of the team for the T20I and Test series against New Zealand.

In the 2024 Indian Premier League, Pat was the captain of Sunrisers Hyderabad where his team performed brilliantly. He then traveled to the USA and the West Indies for the T20 World Cup and also participated in the MLC.

“I am down with hamstring and ankle issues. I will go to the gym and, start running, and rehab exercises.”

The Australian all-rounder also claimed to win the Border-Gavaskar trophy.

“It’s the trophy I haven’t won before and my goal is to lift the trophy this time. You back yourself to win the series at home,” he concluded.
