IPL 2025: Zaheer Khan To Replace Gautam Gambhir, Here Is Super Exclusive

Since Gautam Gambhir left as mentor, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) is searching for the right candidate. Now,  according to the latest report, it seems they are considering Zaheer Khan for the role. Reports say the team is in talks with the former Indian pacer to join their support staff before IPL 2025.

Cricbuzz reports that Zaheer Khan is in advanced talks about becoming the mentor for LSG. Gambhir, the former mentor, and Morkel, the bowling coach, have left the team to join the Indian national team. Their departure has created a huge space to fill for the Lucknow-based franchise.

Zaheer is being considered not just to replace Gambhir as a mentor but also to guide the team’s bowling unit. His impressive experience and talent for developing Indian players are expected to make him an important link between the players and the franchise management.

The 45-year-old Zaheer Khan has a strong track record as a mentor, having previously worked with the Mumbai Indians (MI), where he guided players like Jasprit Bumrah and Trent Boult. Zaheer was also considered for the role of bowling coach for the Indian team under Gautam Gambhir, a position that ultimately went to Morne Morkel.
