Australia will face India in the five-Test Border-Gavaskar Trophy series at home. Australia hasn’t won a Test series against India in the past decade. Meanwhile, the former legendary wicket-keeper batter Adam Gilchrist has said that Pat Cummins and the team will look to improve their performance.
The series will begin in late November. Rohit Sharma will be captaining the Indian side, and men in blue will reach after two consecutive series wins there. Last time when India had victories against Australia, Ajinkya Rahane and Virat Kohli were the captains of the team.
While speaking to Times Of India, Adam Gilchrist said,“Australia will have to prove their dominance at home. India knows how to win matches in overseas countries.”
Gilchrist supported the Pat Cummins and team to win the Border-Gavaskar Trophy . However, he also predicted that it would be a close series for both the teams.
“I am going to go with Australia and hopefully they will defeat India. But it will be a close battle,” he added.
India currently tops the points table, with Australia in second place in the WTC standings.
The star Australian spinner Nathan Lyon also talked about the series and while talking to ESPNCricinfo, he said,“It is an unfinished business for us. We are hungry to defeat India, and it will be challenging. I want to take wickets to turn things around.”
