Virat Kohli is regarded as the most dynamic world batter who has been superb in all three game formats. His records and game sense have mesmerized fans all across the globe. Meanwhile, the legendary West Indies fast bowler Curtly Ambrose chose star Indian batsman Virat Kohli as one of the current players he would like to bowl against.
Ambrose, who is considered one of the greatest fast bowlers ever, has taken 630 wickets in his international career. It includes 405 in Test matches with an impressive average of 20.99.
Having faced many top batters during his career, Curtly Ambrose recently mentioned that he would relish the chance to challenge Virat Kohli, Australian batsman Steve Smith, and England’s Joe Root with his bowling.
According to ANI, Curtly Ambrose said, “Virat, Smith, Root.”
Kohli, Root, and Smith have become top players in international cricket since their inception in cricket. Kohli holds records for the most centuries in ODIs and is the highest run-scorer in T20 World Cups, while Root and Smith have scored many runs in Test matches.
Ambrose also noted that when people talk about their favorite cricketers, batsmen often get more attention than bowlers. He also picked Pakistan’s Wasim Akram as his favorite bowler.
He further added, “Yes, I feel so sometimes. I have been in cricket for so long. Most of the time, if you ask someone their favourite cricketer, they would name a batter. I have played some great matches with them, and I admire them. But as a former fast bowler, I will lean towards the bowlers. Wasim Akram is one of my favourite fast bowlers,” he added.
