Star batter Rinku Singh has been included in the India B squad for the second round of the Duleep Trophy. The team was announced by the BCCI on Tuesday, September 10.
Rinku will take the place of Rishabh Pant, who featured in the first round to make his comeback to red-ball cricket in preparation for the upcoming Test series against Bangladesh.
Pant scored a rapid 61 off 47 balls in the second innings after being dismissed for just seven runs in the first. He, along with opener Yashasvi Jaiswal, has been released from the squad for the Bangladesh Tests. Suyash Prabhudessai has been named as Jaiswal’s replacement.
Left-arm fast bowler Yash Dayal who received his first India call-up for the Bangladesh Tests, will miss the second round of the Duleep Trophy. In the opening round against India A, Dayal performed well, taking 4 wickets for 89 runs, including three wickets in the second innings.
India B started their campaign with a 76-run win over India A. Musheer Khan shone on his Duleep Trophy debut, scoring an impressive 181 in the first innings. His innings rescued India B from a tough spot at 94/7 after India A captain Shubman Gill chose to bowl first.
