In the IPL 2024 clash between CSK and LSG, a viral video of Mahendra Singh Dhoni during the match against Lucknow Super Giants is making rounds on social media, alleging his display of anger.
Mahendra Singh Dhoni, the former cricketer of Team India and captain of Chennai Super Kings, is often known as ‘Captain Cool’. Fans believe that no matter the situation, Dhoni remains calm. Rarely have there been moments when Mahi has been seen angry. However, during the match against Lucknow Super Giants, a video of Dhoni goes viral on social media, suggesting his display of anger.
On March 23, 2024, Lucknow Super Giants defeated Chennai Super Kings by six wickets in the IPL 2024 match. Lucknow chased down the target of 211 runs, propelled by Marcus Stoinis’s century, with three balls to spare. Dhoni got to bat for only one delivery in this match, which he dispatched for a boundary.
However, before coming out to bat, a video of Dhoni surfaced, where he was seen strolling in the dressing room. During this time, the camera’s focus was solely on Mahi. Dhoni appeared uncomfortable with the continuous focus of the camera on him. After a while, he gestured to throw a water bottle. Whether Mahi did it in anger or in a jovial manner couldn’t be determined, but the image and video of this incident quickly went viral on social media.
Raina had earlier revealed the story of Dhoni’s anger. Recently, Suresh Raina disclosed during an interview on “The Lallantop” that after the defeat in the IPL 2014 qualifier match against Punjab, Dhoni was quite angry.
“During this match, after the loss, Dhoni bhai was very angry. I had never seen him so angry before. The bat was there, the helmet was there… the match we had won slipped from our hands. If we had won that match, it wouldn’t have been Punjab versus KKR but CSK versus KKR in the final. That year, we could have won the IPL.”
Exciting win for LSG
If we talk about the brief score of the match, Chennai Super Kings batted first and scored 210 runs, losing 4 wickets. Ruturaj Gaikwad played a captain’s innings of 108 runs off 60 balls. Lucknow’s team chased down this target with three balls to spare. Stoinis played a blazing inning of 124 runs with the help of 13 fours and 6 sixes off 63 balls. While Pooran contributed 34 off 15 balls and Deepak Hooda scored 17 off 6 balls, securing the win for the team.
