The retention of players for IPL 2025 has been done. Five-time champion Chennai Super Kings will now look to make the core team more intact and for this, the staff members should also be very tactful. Meanwhile, the former South African cricketer Dale Steyn shared that he wants to coach Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2025.
The former South African bowling legend mentioned that he always wanted to play alongside MS Dhoni and is still eager to do so as he believes it would be a great learning experience from one of the best.
MS Dhoni has undoubtedly been an important figure in cricket. His contributions to the sport have been huge. The wicketkeeper-batter is considered one of the greatest minds in cricket, both internationally and in the IPL.
MS Dhoni has had a very successful cricket career. He led the Indian National Team to win all the ICC trophies while he was captain. He also made Chennai Super Kings the top team in the IPL by helping them win five titles.
One of the main reasons people think so highly of MS Dhoni is because he can make his teammates perform at their best. He has helped many players in their careers and is known for developing stars like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Ravindra Jadeja, and others for the Indian team.
Many players have wanted to play with Dhoni for a long time. Former South Africa player Dale Steyn also showed his respect for the former captain of Chennai Super Kings.
“I am a big admirer of MS Dhoni – I always wanted to be part of CSK. I was even willing to take a pay cut just to be in the CSK environment. I was ready to sit on CSK’s bench if it meant being part of the team”
“I mean I wanted to play for a guy like MS Dhoni. I would even today if someone said to me you must make a comeback. I would probably get ready just to get into that so that it could make me a better better player.”
Dale Steyn mentioned that he wants to coach teams and believes that working with MS Dhoni would help his career. He said he wants to coach teams that can win the IPL and World Cups, and learning from Dhoni would be great.
“Understanding of the game and potentially to a better coach going in the future, because I would love now as I’m not a play anymore. I’d love to coach teams that can go on to win IPL’s, World Cups, and all these other trophies and I think if you learn from the best who’s done it the most in Dhoni that would have been quite nice.”
