The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has revealed the squad for the upcoming three-match T20I series against Bangladesh. The young pace sensation Mayank Yadav has been selected, and Varun Chakaravarthy is returning after the ICC T20 World Cup in 2021. Sanju Samson remains on the team, but Ishan Kishan has not been included.

Mayank caught everyone’s attention with his speed in IPL 2024. Even though he only played four matches for the Lucknow Super Giants, the batter felt difficulties in facing him.

Jitesh Sharma was chosen instead of Ishan because the selection committee decided to rest Rishabh Pant and Dhruv Jurel.

The selectors did not include Yuzvendra Chahal in the series. He had been a member of the winning team at the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 but was omitted from the white-ball matches against Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka. Meanwhile, Varun excelled for the Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2024, where he took 21 wickets.

Captain Suryakumar Yadav will not have a vice-captain since Shubman Gill has been rested to ensure he stays fit for the upcoming three-Test series against New Zealand. Abhishek Sharma returns to the squad after being dropped for the tour of Sri Lanka.

Team India’s squad for three T20Is against Bangladesh: Suryakumar Yadav (C), Abhishek Sharma, Sanju Samson (wk), Rinku Singh, Hardik Pandya, Riyan Parag, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Shivam Dube, Washington Sundar, Ravi Bishnoi, Varun Chakaravarthy, JItesh Sharma (wk), Arshdeep Singh, Harshit Rana, Mayank Yadav
