Suryakumar Yadav can make these 2 big records in 2nd T20I vs Bangladesh

India will play against Bangladesh in the second T20I of the current three-match series on Wednesday, October 9. The game will be held at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.

In this match, Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav has the opportunity to equal Virat Kohli’s record and become the second-fastest player in the world to score 2500 runs in T20 internationals.

Kohli retired from T20 internationals on June 29, 2024, and reached 2500 runs in 73 T20I matches for India. Meanwhile, Suryakumar has scored 2461 runs in 72 T20I matches so far.

If Suryakumar scores 39 runs in the 2nd T20I, he will match Kohli’s record. The overall fastest to reach 2500 runs in T20 internationals is held by former Pakistan captain Babar Azam, who achieved the milestone in his 67th match.

Suryakumar made 29 runs from 14 balls in the first match of the series against Bangladesh, held in Gwalior on Sunday, October 6. While at the crease, he hit two fours and three sixes.

In the second match against Bangladesh, if Suryakumar hits at least six sixes, he will surpass West Indies batter Nicholas Pooran to become the third-highest six-hitter in T20Is. Suryakumar has hit 139 sixes in 73 T20Is, while Pooran has hit 144 sixes in 98 T20Is so far.
