Star Indian batter Virat Kohli is widely considered one of the best of his generation. Throughout his career, people have often compared him to the former Indian legendary Sachin Tendulkar. Apart from Tendulkar, Kohli has been compared with many other cricketers as well.

Kohli will now be again seen in action in the upcoming two-match Test series against Bangladesh starting on September 19. Currently, Kohli has 26,942 runs in his kitty across all the three formats and now he only needs 58 runs to reach the mark of 27,000 runs. Till now in his international career, Kohli has played 591 innings. Tendulkar is the fastest cricketer on this earth to reach 27,000 runs in his international career.

Tendulkar took 623 innings to score 27,000 runs. He has played 226 innings in Test Cricket, 396 in ODIs cricket and single T20I. If Kohli scores 58 runs in his next eight innings, he will become the fastest batter to reach this milestone, doing it in just 600 innings. He will also be the first player in the 147-year history of international cricket to achieve this in such fewer innings.

Apart from Sachin Tendulkar, the legendary wicket-keeper batter of Sri Lanka Kumar Sangakkara and the world class Australian skipper Ricky Ponting are the only two other batters to score 27000 runs in international cricket.
