Fast bowler Mayank Yadav had an impressive debut for Team India in the first T20I against Bangladesh in Gwalior on October 6. The young fast bowler made history by bowling a maiden over in his first over, becoming only the third Indian cricketer to do this on his T20I debut.
Mayank Yadav became part of a select group of Indian fast bowlers, along with Ajit Agarkar and Arshdeep Singh, who have bowled maiden overs in their first T20I matches. Agarkar achieved this milestone against South Africa in Johannesburg in 2006, while Arshdeep Singh did the same against England in Southampton in 2022.
In his first over, Yadav showed his ability to bowl at speeds over 140 kmph with good accuracy and control. He also took his first international wicket on the eighth ball of his spell, getting Mahmudullah out for just 1 run in the second ball of the seventh over.

Mayank made a strong comeback to competitive cricket after his IPL season with the Lucknow Super Giants was cut short due to injury. Despite limited chances to play, he impressed the selectors with his consistent pace of over 150 kmph and his wicket-taking ability.
In the opening match of the T20I series, India chose to bowl first against Bangladesh and gave debut opportunities to both Mayank Yadav and Nitish Kumar Reddy. Mayank also hit a speed of 149.9 kmph on the third ball of the second over, living up to his reputation as a fast bowler.
