Lucknow Super Giants Have Kept INR 50 Crore To Bid On Rohit Sharma? Sanjiv Goenka Comes With a Surprising Statement

There are rumors that Rohit Sharma could leave Mumbai Indians (MI) and join Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). The owner of LSG, Sanjiv Goenka, who recently announced Zaheer Khan as the mentor of the team has recently talked about these rumors.

While talking to a podcast arranged by Sports Tak Sanjiv Goenka said that Lucknow Super Giants must learn a lot of things from Mumbai Indians. They never accept defeat and show courage till the last bowl is delivered. He said that LSG should reflect the same kind of attitude in their game.

The anchor then asked Goenka, “There are rumors that you’ve set aside ₹50 crore for Rohit Sharma. Is that true?”

“Tell me one thing. Does anybody know if Rohit Sharma is available at the auction? The entire rumor is baseless. We have to see if MI releases Rohit Sharma. Then, we have to see if Rohit makes himself available for bidding. Even if he does, how will you manage to get the other 22 players if you spend half of your entire budget on one player?” Goenka said.

“But, is Rohit on your wishlist in case he is available?” the anchor inquired.

To this question, Goenka replied, “Everyone has a wishlist to have the best captain and player with you. But, this is like ‘if wishes were horses’. It is not about what I want. It’s about what you can do with available resources. No matter what I wish for, every franchise will wish the same. You’re not going to get everything.”
