Indian all-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin is making history in the current two-match Test series against Bangladesh. After breaking several records with his impressive performance in the first Test at his home ground in Chennai’s MA Chidambaram Stadium, Ashwin continued to surpass milestones in the second and final Test in Kanpur.

The Indian cricket team is playing the second and final Test against Bangladesh at Kanpur’s Green Park Stadium. A rain delay initially pushed back the start of the match. As anticipated, batting at Green Park has been challenging, with Indian bowlers consistently putting Bangladesh under pressure.

During the first session, Indian pacer Akash Deep dismissed both Bangladesh openers. He sent Zakir Hasan back for a duck and Shadman Islam after he got 24 runs off 36 balls. Team India appeared to lose some steam in their search for the third wicket in the second session, but Ashwin came through and got the breakthrough for the hosts.

In the Kanpur Test, Ravichandran Ashwin reached two major milestones in Test cricket. By taking Shanto’s wicket, Ashwin made history and surpassed Anil Kumble to become the second-highest wicket-taker in Test matches played in Asia.

Ashwin is also the second highest wicket taker for team India in the history of Test Cricket. Till now in his career, he has grabbed 523 wickets in 192 innings of 102 Test matches. The topmost Indian bowler is Anil Kumble, who has clinched 619 wickets in 236 innings of 132 matches.
