Jasprit Bumrah helped India fight back against Australia on Friday, the first day of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy at the Optus Stadium in Perth.
After the match, Bumrah’s wife, Sanjana Ganesan, praised his performance in a unique way on social media.
In the match, the deputy of Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah stepped up when needed, using the seam-friendly conditions to take four wickets for 17 runs, putting Australia in trouble.

Bumrah won the toss and decided to bat first, but India was all out for just 150 runs by Tea. Debutant Nitish Reddy scored 41, and Rishabh Pant added 37 runs. With the help of these batters, India reached 150 in 49.4 overs.
In the third session, Bumrah dismissed Nathan McSweeney, who was playing his first match, by trapping him leg before wicket. Two overs later, he got two big wickets in a row, Usman Khawaja (8) and Steve Smith (0). Khawaja was caught by Virat Kohli at second slip, and Smith was sent back after an LBW.
India’s Batting In The First Innings
In this match, Indian captain Jasprit Bumrah won the toss and elected to bat first. The start for the men in blue was too fragile and Yashasvi Jaiswal returned to the pavilion without scoring a single run. However, India reached a respectable score with the help of Pant and Reddy.
The highlight of the match was KL Rahul’s dismissal which created controversy among the cricket experts.
