Former Pakistan spinner Saeed Ajmal remembered the time when he played against the greatest of all time. He praised the honesty and kindness of Sachin Tendulkar. Ajmal also respectfully calls Sachin “Sir.”

In the 2011 World Cup semi-final in Mohali, Ajmal dismissed Sachin, but not before the veteran had already made 85 runs. Tendulkar was awarded Player of the Match for his innings as India won against Pakistan by 29 runs.

During a recent event, the famous spinner discussed his rivalry with Sachin.

According to a quote by ANI, Saeed Ajmal said, “Sachin is a great cricketer and is honest and kind. He is one of the legends, and I called him sir as he is worthy of that. I have played with him, and it was an honor for me. Getting his wicket gave me happiness. I will always remember this.”

He also talked about a suggestion that Sachin gave to Saeed Ajmal.

“I was bowling to Kevin Pietersen in a league in 2010. Sachin told me to bowl doosra to Kevin Pietersen and I took his wicket. Sachin was happy. I dismissed four batters in four overs. Sachin always respected us. He is a very good man,” he added.

Ajmal claimed 178 wickets in 35 Test matches, 184 wickets in 113 ODIs, and 85 wickets in 64 T20Is.
