Before the start of the IPL 2025, the Gujrat Titans made a huge decision and hired former Indian wicketkeeper Parthiv Patel as their batting coach. Parthiv will replace Gary Kirsten, under whom Gujarat won the IPL trophy in 2022.

Also according to the report, Kirsten will now Pakistan Cricket Team as the head coach. Since Parthiv was born in Gujarat and played domestic cricket for the state for more than 15 years, he is likely to feel at home in his new role with GT.

Parthiv Patel will join Ashish Nehra on the Gujarat Titans’ coaching team. Nehra, as the head coach, guided the team to two IPL finals in their first two seasons, winning the championship in their debut season in 2022. Former England cricketer Vikram Solanki will remain the Director of Cricket for Gujarat Titans, according to the report.

Parthiv Patel has scored nearly 3,000 runs in the IPL across 139 matches, playing for different teams. He is a three-time IPL champion, winning with Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in 2010, and with Mumbai Indians (MI) in 2015 and 2017. Parthiv has also played for Kochi Tuskers Kerala (KTK), Deccan Chargers, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB).

Parthiv Patel played for India in 25 Test matches and 38 ODIs during his career.

Meanwhile, Gujarat Titans are likely to keep Shubman Gill as their captain for IPL 2025, with players like Rashid Khan, Mohammed Shami, B Sai Sudharshan, and Mohit Sharma also expected to be retained by the team ahead of the mega auction.
