Ishan Kishan made a strong comeback in the Duleep Trophy and scored a century for India C in their second-round match against India B on Thursday. He hit his hundred in 121 balls which included 14 fours and two sixes.

Ishan Kishan got lucky on the first day, as he survived two dropped catches in back-to-back overs. The first was when he pulled a short ball from Navdeep Saini toward deep backward square leg, where Nitish Kumar Reddy jumped to stop it near the boundary but couldn’t catch it.

In the next over, Ishan mistimed another pull shot, this time against Mukesh Kumar. Nitish, now fielding at mid-on had to turn, run back, and dive for the catch but he missed it again as it slipped through his hands.

Earlier in the day, Ishan was added to the India C squad at the last minute. He joined the team on Wednesday and took part in the practice session.

Kishan missed the first round of the Duleep Trophy due to a groin injury he picked up during the Buchi Babu Tournament in Tamil Nadu. This tournament marked his return to multi-day cricket after more than a year, where he played two matches for Jharkhand.
