The Duleep Trophy 2024-25 begins on September 5, 2024. It marks the start of India’s domestic cricket season. This tournament is important because it gives Indian cricketers a chance to prepare and catch the selectors’ attention before the upcoming Test series against Bangladesh.
With this tournament, players will try to improve their worth to make a place in the Test Squad.
In a significant shift, the BCCI has overhauled the format for the Duleep Trophy, moving away from the usual zonal system to introduce a four-team structure. Teams A, B, C, and D will play in a round-robin format, and the team with the highest points at the tournament’s conclusion will be declared the champion. This season the tournament does not feature any knockout rounds.
The Duleep Trophy 2024-25 will take place at three locations: the Rural Development Trust Stadium and ACA ADCA Ground in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh, as well as the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. The tournament is set to wrap up on September 22.
