Fast bowler Hasan Mahmud made history by becoming the first Bangladeshi bowler to take five wickets in a Test match in India. He reached this milestone on Day 2 of the first Test at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

Hasan Mahmud made a strong impact on Day 1 by dismissing three key top-order batsmen, leaving India in trouble. He took the wickets of Rohit Sharma (6), Shubman Gill (0), and Virat Kohli (6).

Hasan Mahmud claimed Rishabh Pant (39) as his fourth wicket on Day 1. He came back on Day 2 and took the wicket of Jasprit Bumrah, securing his five-wicket haul in the first innings.

India’s national cricket team put up a total of 376 runs with the help of Ravichandran Ashwin’s impressive 113. He received strong support from Ravindra Jadeja, who scored 86 runs and stitched a partnership of 199 runs.

In addition to their efforts, Yashasvi Jaiswal made a vital contribution with a half-century in the match. The second game of the series is scheduled to take place in Kanpur.

Following the Test matches, both teams will face off in a three-match T20I series, where Suryakumar Yadav will make his return to the squad as captain.
