Before the much-awaited Border-Gavaskar trophy is going to start between India and Australia, Cricket Australia(CA) has got a major setback. Star all-rounder Cameron Green might miss the upcoming Test series against India after being ruled out of the current white-ball tour in England because of a back injury.

The 25-year-old all-rounder experienced soreness after the rain-affected third ODI at Chester-le-Street, which England won by 46 runs (DLS Method) to stay in the series after losing the first two games.

Green was ruled out of the rest of the five-match series before the fourth ODI, which started at Lord’s earlier on Friday.

The batting all-rounder is going back home to begin his recovery before the Border-Gavaskar Test series in November. He needs to get fit quickly for the upcoming series at home against the team currently leading the World Test Championship (WTC).

Medical scans on the cricketer showed that he had a back injury. However, his comeback is dependent upon the kind of further Tests done in Australia. The statement reads, “wouldn’t be known until the player arrives home in Perth for further assessment”.

The initial Test match against India is approaching, set to start on November 22 in Perth, which is less than two months from now. Green first played for his country against India in the inaugural Test of the 2020-21 Border-Gavaskar Trophy held in Adelaide.
