Bangladesh have created history and achieved a rare feat in their history of cricket. They have won both matches in Pakistan and it is one of the most incredible moments in the history of Bangladesh cricket.
They beat the home team by six wickets in the second Test at Rawalpindi, after a dominant 10-wicket win in the first Test at the same ground.
Bangladesh has only won one away Test series of two or more matches, which was against the West Indies in 2009. Currently, both Bangladesh and Pakistan are ranked at No. 7 and No. 8 in the World Test Championship standings.
Zakir Hasan (40), Najmul Hossain Shanto (38), and Mominul Haq (34) made important contributions as Bangladesh successfully chased the target of 185 runs with over a session to spare. The visitors had earlier won the first Test by 10 wickets, marking their first-ever Test victory against Pakistan.
Bangladesh lost a few wickets in quick succession but experienced players Mushfiqur Rahim (22 not out) and Shakib Al Hasan (21 not out) put together a steady 32-run partnership for the fifth wicket to secure the victory.
Bangladesh was struggling at 26-6 in the first innings, but Litton Das and Mehidy Hasan Miraz helped stage a strong comeback. Fast bowlers Hasan Mahmud, Nahid Rana, and Taskin Ahmed then bowled out Pakistan for 172 in the second innings, setting up a target of 184 runs for Bangladesh to chase in the fourth session.
Shan Masood has experienced his second straight series whitewash since becoming the Test captain last year, following a 3-0 defeat against Australia.
