CSK selected Gurjapneet Singh, who had earlier been a net bowler for their team. There was a bidding war between CSK and LSG to get the talented fast bowler. When LSG withdrew, Gujarat Titans entered the race as Ashish Nehra likes left-arm fast bowlers. However, CSK offered a higher bid than GT and got Gurjapneet for Rs 2.2 crore.
