‘Baba Ki Jay Ho’, Shami hilarious reply to Sanjay Manjrekar after his ‘price tag’ comment

Indian pace star Mohammed Shami is set to enter the IPL 2025 mega auction after being released by Gujarat Titans last month. Shami has been one of the asset for Gujarat Titans but before the IPL 2025 mega auction, the franchise opted to release the player.

However, cricket expert Sanjay Manjrekar has predicted that Shami’s value could see a major decline at the auction. The much-awaited IPL auction is scheduled for November 24 and 25 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Manjrekar believes that Shami’s price might drop significantly because the bowler always has fitness concerns seeing his injury problems. After a long injury, Shami is finally back on the field and he is serving his team in the Ranji Trophy.

What Sanjay Manjrekar Said On Mohammed Shami?

“There will definitely be interest from teams, but given Shami’s injury history—and this recent one took a significant amount of time to recover—there’s always a concern about a potential breakdown during the season. If a franchise invests heavily and then loses him mid-season, their options become limited. This concern might lead to a drop in his price tag,” Manjrekar said on Star Sports.

Former India cricketer Manjrekar’s bold prediction didn’t go down well with Shami. The 34-year-old responded on Instagram, sarcastically and said that people should ask Manjrekar about their future.

Shami Hilarious Reply To Sanjay Manjrekar

“Baba ki jay hoooo. Thoda sa gyan apne future k lie bhi bacha loo kaam aayega Sanjay G? Kisi ko future janna ho to sir se mile (Hail Baba. Save some knowledge for your future too, it will be useful Sanjay ji? If anyone wants to know the future, then meet sir),” Shami wrote in his Instagram story.

Gujarat Titans bought Shami for INR 6.25 Crore in the IPL 2022 mega auction. In his first season, the fast bowler took 20 wickets in 16 matches with an average of 24.40. He did even better in 2023 where he grabbed 28 wickets in 17 matches with an average of 18.64 and won the Purple Cap.
