Mitchell Marsh warns Indian team before Border-Gavaskar trophy

Star Australian all-rounder Mitchell Marsh said he is ready to bowl key overs in the five-match Test series between Australia and India. He is now Australia’s fifth-choice fast bowler and has replaced Cameron Green. Green is unable to play in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy because of a back injury and Marsh will be having a great responsibility on his back.

Mitchell Marsh Injury Chapter

Australia missed the semifinals of the Men’s T20 World Cup, where Mitchell Marsh played only as a batter. Since his injury in the IPL earlier this year, Marsh has bowled just four overs in competitive cricket. Still, he said he has worked hard to be ready to bowl well against India.

Marsh On Bowling In Border-Gavaskar Trophy

“I’ve been really well looked after. I’ve had a real luxury of having Cameron Green in the side over the last little period of time. Once we knew that he was out, it was all about building towards this first Test match.”

“Really confident that I’ve put in enough work to be able to bowl. Over the last few years, the all-rounder hasn’t bowled a hell of a lot. But I think it’s just being ready to go, and being available for when (captain) Patty (Cummins) needs and when the boys need a bit of a chop out. I also just love competing with the ball and trying to make something happen. So I’m ready to go.”

Marsh has taken 48 wickets in 42 Test matches with an economy rate of 3.51. His achievements include a four-wicket and a five-wicket haul. India and Australia will play their first Test match on November 22 at Perth Stadium.

In this series, India will look to win four out of five matches in order to make it into the final of the World Test Championship. Recently, they lost a three-match Test Series against New Zealand which made their way very tough.
