Irfan Pathan predicts the expensive player in a mega auction 2025

Former Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan has given the verdict on the most expensive player in the upcoming mega auction 2025. Pathan feels that wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant will break Mitchell Starc’s record as the most expensive player in Indian Premier League (IPL) history.

When Star Become The Most Expensive Player

During the IPL 2024 mini-auction, Kolkata Knight Riders bought the Australian bowler Starc for ₹24.75 crore which made him the most expensive player in the history of the Indian Premier League.

Pat Cummins is the second most expensive player, bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) for ₹20.50 crore. Pathan thinks Pant could become the costliest player in the next auction.

While sharing his thoughts on Twitter, Rishabh Pant said, “Mitchell Starc’s auction record is in danger. @RishabhPant17 is ready to break it!.”

A Look At Rishabh Pant Career

Rishabh Pant was released by Delhi Capitals (DC) after spending eight years with the team. The left-handed batter started playing in the IPL for DC in 2016. In 2018, he was named the Emerging Player of the Year after scoring 684 runs in 14 matches. That year, he had an average of 52.61 and a strike rate of 173.60, with one century and five half-centuries.

Overall in his IPL career, Pant has scored 3284 runs, including one century and 18 half-centuries.

The Indian Premier League (IPL) has finalized 574 players for the upcoming auction. The event will take place on November 24 and 25 in Jeddah, where ten teams will compete to fill 204 spots in their squads.

Who Are There In IPL Auction

Big names like Shreyas Iyer, Jos Buttler, Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj, Yuzvendra Chahal, KL Rahul, Marcus Stoinis, and Mitchell Starc will be part of the auction. These players are expected to get high bids as teams look to build strong squads for the next IPL season.

Chennai Super Kings, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Kolkata Knight Riders, Gujarat Titans, Lucknow Super Giants, Rajasthan Royals, and Mumbai Indians are those teams who have got all their core players, but like other franchises, they will try to make their squad more powerful and dynamic for the next season.
